My name is Anesxa Polanco, and I am a 21-year-old photographer from The Bronx, NY. My work focuses on people and their relationship with the natural environment. Through my portraits and landscape photography, I aim to create images that are historically significant and will be appreciated for years to come. Photography provides a calming effect and opens up opportunities in my life.

“Everyday Life” is a series of black-and-white prints documenting the people and landscapes of Upper Manhattan, as I discover them on my daily walks. The portraits of New Yorkers capture my admiration for each person’s hustle. By documenting these moments, I reflect on how this opportunity allows me to connect personally with the strangers I photograph. This series strengthens my relationship with my subjects, as we share a moment captured through my lens.
