Apendeki Bita Florence
From: Kalemie, DRC
Age: 24

I answer to the name of Apendeko Bita Florence, born in the family of father Bita Kashindi and mother Johari Moni, in Kalemie on March 26th, 1996. My father died when I was seven years old, leaving behind a family of seven, 4 boys and 3 girls. Among the children, I am the 5th child. I grew up without the affection of our parents, but God gave us grace because my mom takes care of us. Despite having gone through hardships and difficulties, we are all alive.

Besides my primary and secondary school studies, I’ve done other studies such as:

  • Computer science

  • Photography levels 1 and 2

  • Chemical Fabrication

  • Baking cakes

And many others such as gender and governance, protection, female leadership, negotiation and communication, all organized by the young women framework for sustainable development in Congo (in partnership with Mercy Corps DRC and their project Girl Innovation Funds) on October 30th, 2018. I received a certificate of participation in this program.
