Nemat Ziad Al-Awaji
Daraa, Syria

My name is Nemat Ziad Al-Awaji. I have a passion for photography, art, cooking, and crafting accessories, but photography is closest to my heart. It motivates me to one day travel the world and learn everything I can about this art form.

Through my participation in the Lens on Life Project, I developed a deeper appreciation for photography and learned its essential techniques and regulations. We want the world to understand that our photos are not just images; they are stories that tell the truth about our lives in the Za’atari Refugee Camp. I also enrolled in a filmmaking course to learn how to create integrated films—ones that I shoot, edit, and direct, all based on my own interpretation of the world around me.
