Obedi Okito Plamed
Goma, Democratic Republic of Congo

My name is Obedi Okito Plamedi, born on January 14, 2007, in Goma, DRC. I am a Congolese national and the eldest of five children, born to my father, Okito Sultani, and my mother, Kimbere Bénédicte. I completed my early education at Mama Mulezi School Complex and my primary education at EP Virunga.

I learned about the opportunity to enroll in a new photography program through my classmates who participated in the previous session. I see this training as a valuable resource for young people in the arts and crafts, and I quickly seized the chance to study for free, seeing it as an opportunity not to be missed. For me, this photography training will help lighten the burden on my parents, as I am the eldest and have younger siblings, which increases my parents’ responsibilities. I prefer to live independently, and photography will help me achieve that.

I am proud to be learning photography and dream of becoming a qualified professional. By studying photography, I have chosen three topics to contribute to sustainable development through my images.
