Kevaugh Williams
Queens, NY.

My name is Kevaughn Williams, and I am a 22-year-old Jamaican-born photographer from Queens, NY. Photography has transformed the way I present myself and perceive the world around me.

I believe that the camera is a powerful tool that not only highlights the issues within our communities but also offers a means to inspire change. Through my work, I aim to provide a fresh perspective that encourages others to see the world in a more positive light. “Walk By Faith, Not By Sight” is a series of photographs that traces my steps through New York City. Combining personal images with photos of everyday life, this series captures both the vibrancy and energy of the boroughs, as well as the quieter, bleaker realities that are often only separated by a few city blocks. As Gordon Parks once said, “I chose my camera as my weapon against all the things I dislike about America—poverty, racism, discrimination.” I have faith in my camera as a tool for change, and I trust in its power to help people see the world differently.
