Mumbere Syahava Eliezer
Goma, Democratic Republic of Congo
I am Mumbere Syahava Eliezer, the son of Kambale Musubao Jacques and Wasingya Kamwendo July. I was born in Goma on December 19, 2009, and I am the eldest of six children. I currently live in Goma, in the Karisimbi district, Kasika neighborhood, on Av Mamadou.
I drive after school to help pay for my school fees. With the same desire to learn, I became interested in participating in photography training through the Canon program run by CAMME RDC/Lens On Life. I am very proud of this photography training because it has allowed me to take better photos and also promote myself in this field. I am grateful to the entire team that organized this Canon photography program and gave young people like me this incredible opportunity.
During the training, and in line with the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), I had the chance to work on several topics, including climate change. Climate change is a major disaster the world is beginning to face due to continuous deforestation and relentless air pollution. Climate change could undo the hard-won progress made by countries in human capital, disproportionately impacting the poor, especially women and marginalized communities. We must fight against climate change by avoiding deforestation, and I call on the global population to plant trees to help combat this issue.
